Retirement Tips

We have assembled a few retirement tips for your reference. However, the most general and probably most important retirement tips we can give you are (a) don’t rush into anything – take your time, do your research, and then decide, (b) is your health insurance valid in the retirement country you are considering to retire in and if not, what are your options, and (c) what is your monthly or annual budget for your retirement. We consider retirement as a bonus for a job (or life) well done; a vacation which should be worry-free, happy and pleasant. After the mad rush and stress of the working years comes now the relaxing, rejuvenating, “laissez faire” retirement years.

Many years ago, an 80 year old retiree said his retirement tips were quite simple. He said it is only when you have nothing to do that you fade away; a busy mind and an active body is very important in life. The adage ‘no grass grows on busy streets’ comes to mind. He also said that retirement was what the individual made of it and should be enjoyable and peaceful. His children were on their own with their own families, so he and his wife could enjoy their life together wherever and however they pleased. He was physically fit, alas with a few aches and pains, and mentally active until he passed away of a stroke.

I have not forgotten these simple retirement tips and hope our following retirement tips from various friends and associates will be of assistance to you. We wish you all the best. May you have a wonderful retirement!
